Hotel with air conditioning in Paris: Hôtel Le A in the heart of the 8th arrondissement

Looking for a hotel with air conditioning in Paris becomes a priority at the first sign of summer heat in the French capital. Two minutes from the Champs-Élysées, Hôtel Le A is a 4-star boutique hotel at 4 rue d'Artois in the 8th arrondissement, with 26 air conditioned rooms and suites on a quiet, pretty street in the center of Paris. Free fibre-optic internet, a 24-hour reception where guests are welcomed in French and English, breakfast under a 19th-century glass roof, complimentary tea time each afternoon: this city hotel combines the comfort and the privacy of a modern building with a real commitment to art.

Among Paris hotels with air conditioning, few offer this atmosphere. Here is what to know before you book your stay in August.

Air conditioned rooms and comfortable beds

Seven categories make up our accommodation, all air conditioned. The Superior Room, with its queen size double bed, opens onto an inner courtyard decorated with painted ceramic, a real asset when the city heats up. The Deluxe Room favours contemporary restraint, while the Deluxe Balcony Room adds a small Haussmann balcony over rue d'Artois, a king bed or twin beds, and a marble bathroom with bathtub.

Looking for space? The Junior Suite and the Junior Suite Balcony, the latter with an outdoor garden lounge, are perfect for a stay of several nights. On the top floor, the Suite stands out for its view over the Parisian rooftops and its two skylights. For families, three connecting configurations welcome four to five guests, five being the maximum with an extra bed.

Every room offers a flat-screen television with international channels, mini bar, safe, kettle and a selection of teas, Sothys amenities, bathrobes and slippers, USB sockets. The Junior Suites and the Suite add a Nespresso machine and a Bose Bluetooth speaker. Travellers who look specifically for Paris hotels with king beds will find them in the Deluxe, Junior Suite and Suite categories. Wooden furniture, clean lines, an original artwork on the wall: a comfortable atmosphere that owes nothing to standardisation.

Services and facilities in an air conditioned 4-star hotel

Breakfast is served under the glass roof, in an American buffet or continental version, with unlimited hot drinks, eggs to order and gluten-free options. It runs from 7am to 10.30am on weekdays and from 7am to 11am at weekends, and can also be brought to your room.

Between 4pm and 6pm, tea time is included for every guest: Kusmi teas, pastries, macarons, homemade fruit juices and fresh fruit, a welcome pause during the warmest hours. The Lounge Bar, an open space in the manner of a New York loft beneath its 19th-century glass roof, extends the evening over a cocktail or a glass of French wine.

Around you, a friendly team and a warm welcome at any hour. Our 24-hour concierge service handles restaurant reservations, private tours and shows, and arranges car transfers on request. Central location, metro station and travel from the airports

The address matters as much as the comfort. Saint-Philippe du Roule station, on line 9, is a two-minute walk away; Franklin D. Roosevelt, on line 1, around twelve minutes. Charles de Gaulle – Étoile serves the RER A, and eight bus lines pass nearby: 93, 52, 22, 32, 80, 83, 28 and 73. The main railway stations, including Gare de Lyon, are easy to reach by metro or RER, worth taking into account when planning the first and last day of your trip.

From Roissy CDG, take the RER B and change onto the RER A to Charles de Gaulle – Étoile, ten minutes on foot from rue d'Artois.

Step out of the hotel and you are already in the Golden Triangle, a few meters from avenue Montaigne and avenue George V, yet the calm of a residential street returns as soon as the door closes behind you.

What to explore around the Champs-Élysées on a hot day ?

The neighborhood suits summer days better than you might expect. The shaded gardens of the Champs-Élysées lead down to the popular Place de la Concorde and the Grand Palais, whose exhibitions offer a cool break indoors. Parc Monceau, in the same arrondissement, remains one of the most pleasant places in the city for lunch outdoors.

For shopping, avenue Montaigne and rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré bring together the great couture houses, and our partnerships with Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and La Vallée Village give hotel guests exclusive advantages. The Sothys Institute is 300 metres away.

Allow about fifteen minutes to reach the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadéro or the Louvre museum. A short metro ride changes the scene entirely: the Marais and its museums, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and its bookshops, or Notre-Dame cathedral, all worth a visit while staying in the 8th. Keep them on your list for the cooler hours of the morning. Local bistros and quiet courtyards are within easy reach on foot, and a walk along the Seine early in the evening, once the heat has dropped, is still the best way to catch the atmosphere of Paris.
